Inclusive massage therapy for chronic illness and maintaining health.

**Updates: Masks and Low-Scent environment **
  1. I will be wearing a mask for the time being.
  2. You do not need to wear a mask but are always free to do so for the whole treatment or just part of the treatment.
  3. Cleaning and disinfecting protocols have not changed.
  4. Please self-screen before you come. If you are showing any symptoms of illness (not just covid), please reschedule. Thank you for respecting my health 🤍
  5. I will continue to self-screen and may need to cancel if I don’t pass screening. I will do my best to reschedule your appointment in a timely manner. I respect your health and wellness 🤍
  6. Please be aware that the clinic is a low/no scent environment. Essential oils will not be used during treatments or diffused into the air.
  7. Please do not apply any scent immediately before your appointment. I get chronic migraines and it can trigger one. The person after you might be sensitive as well. Regular body/hair products that are already applied are fine.
  8. There may be other offices on the floor that are not scent-free, so please be aware if you are scent-sensitive.

Welcome to Hourglass Health!

Health takes time ⌛

Health takes a bit of effort. For some of us, A LOT of effort… myself included.

Health takes consistency and accepting there is some trial and error involved.

I believe in having an amazing circle of care to support whatever health looks like in your life. A circle of care can be different for everyone. It can include regulated health professionals such as your Doctor, Public Health Nurse, Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Chiropractor, RMT, Physiotherapist, or others such as a Personal Trainer, Mentor, Family/Friends, Barista… the list is endless. Those in your circle are those who support you to live your best life. They might suggest pathways to do this but ultimately will support your autonomy and right to decide what’s best for you.

You are the one living in your body. I’m here to support you in your circle of care.

Massage Therapy for Chronic Illness

So how does health correlate with chronic illness. You can have health and have a chronic illness. Health is a nebulous term we throw around a lot. What we mean is… are you able to work within your abilities to experience a meaningful life. Physical manifestations of chronic illness can be exacerbated by stress.

We work with the nervous system to downregulate and modulate pain/stress/dysfunction.

Healthcare for All

LGBTQIA2S+ – trans-friendly, enby, body positive, and human-friendly (also, non-human friendly)
Autism/Neurodiverse – modifications can be made in any way you need for a comfortable space (including no music or chatter) feel free to bring your headphones or weighted blanket.
Chronic Illness – you will not be told to do yoga. Or drink more water or get more sleep…
Lifestyle – Star Trek, Gaming, Poly, Kink, Coffee, Whiskey…
Pet Story Friendly – ALL your pet stories will be listened to, happily. I may not remember your person’s name but I’ll probably remember your pet’s name.
New Parents – yes, extra towels and if you want to nap… you nap.

I have a Cardon 30″ Cosmos 100 Hi Lo hydraulic table (and a 30” wide solid Earthlite Spirit table for mobile treatments) that accommodate all bodies. I’ve been on squeaky wobbly massage tables before and you will never find that in my clinic. I use colourful sheets/towels and cozy blankets, because colours make me happy and I hope they do for you too.

What would you do if you had no pain?

How would life be different?

How can I help support you?
